A Sheetz store has sat on this location at 768 Wayne Avenue since 1974 and has become a staple of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania community, as it is directly across from campus. The old building and gas pumps were all demolished. The store size doubled; the old store was about 2,100 square feet and the new store is 4,486 square feet. Thirty-six people can dine inside and 36 people can sit on the patio. The new location is also permitted to sell six-packs of beer. The store closed at the end of March, was torn down, and the new facility was ready to go for the beginning of the fall semester in August 2016, maximizing revenue for the owner.
