The Penn State Nuclear Innovation Commons is a teaching and collaboration hub for students, faculty and staff in nuclear engineering, their collaborators, alumni and partners in industry. The 5,000-square-foot space incorporates several design elements to foster collaborative and creative learning in the commons and across the globe, including the integration of a fully digitized space for remote engagement. This renovation of the first floor of the Hallowell Building creates a new instruction lab, 3 ideation rooms, offices, and student spaces for small and large gatherings. A tech bar flanks the wall of the central space and a video wall provides connectivity to the world with additional conferencing capabilities.
