Penn State University’s Millennium Science Complex is the new home to over 300 researchers and staff for the University’s Huck Institute of the Life Science and Materials Research Institute. The impressive 297,000 square foot facility was constructed to LEED Gold requirements and tight specifications from special research requirements. The life science wing contains vivariums and animal research laboratories to support research on ecology and evolution, as well as smart prosthetics and new medical treatments. Innovative design and construction solutions were necessary to create quiet labs, clean rooms, and laboratories free from vibration and electromagnetic forces.
