Constructed in 1933, the Glennland Building’s newest reinvention is Scholar Hotel, a boutique hotel. The 72-room hotel holds 72 rooms, 18 on each floor for floors 2-5. The first floor has a lobby, conference center, fitness center, and a small bistro. The basement houses offices, laundry, housekeeping, and mechanical spaces. The interior design focuses on Penn State culture. The hotel allows for extended stays up to 3 months in the heart of downtown State College. The exterior of the building was only altered to preserve the integrity of the structure and brick was repointed.
