Tipton, Blair County, Pa. – You may not be thinking about swimming right now, but Delgrosso’s Amusement Park is.

It was all part of the test fill of the 312,000 gallon wave pool that will be at still under construction expansion of the water park called Laguna Splash. Construction started in February. The park will now have a lazy river and of course this huge wave pool.

They’ve been testing the equipment and filtration system of the pool all this week, making sure things are as smooth as possible for their opening day on Memorial Day Weekend of 2016.

They’ll be doing this once again with their final test run again in late April or early May.

“We have eight different styles of waves that will be able to run on this pool,” said Justin Brown, Director of Aquatics. “So it will be open strictly for swimming during our operation hours. And right now as we work through some of the equipment we’re going to be trying to tune in to figure out which style of wave will be best for our guests that come to the park.”

With the opening of Laguna Splash, Delgrosso’s will have to hire about 100 new lifeguards, growing from about 45 to close to 130.
