Altoona’s new junior high school, built to consolidate the city’s two middle schools, is a 292,066 square foot project covering two city blocks. The four-story academic and fine arts building includes classrooms, two cafeterias, a library, and auditorium. The physical education building houses two gymnasiums, a wrestling room, four locker rooms, and an indoor running track. As the lead contractor, Leonard S. Fiore, Inc. successfully coordinated the seven prime contracts on the two-year, $48 million project to complete the project on-schedule for the 2008 spring semester.
