Penn College expanded their existing facility to provide more space for their welding program. The new building holds 1,444 occupants and is constructed of masonry brick and steel joists. The facility includes areas for the welding shop, a CNC robot lab, a welding lab with an overhead crane, heat treating, stock room and tool room, loading dock, acetylene storage, oxygen storage, dark room and NDT lab, restrooms, classrooms, and teacher offices. The college is the first U.S. educational institution to feature an electron beam welder for students and only the second in the world.
