WJAC-TV: New water park opens, attracts thousands of visitors

TIPTON - It was a perfect sunny day for the grand opening of a fun new attraction in Central Pennsylvania.

Thousands of families made a splash at Delgrosso's new water park Saturday.

"It might be Memorial Day Weekend but it is Christmas Day here at Delgrosso's. We have been waiting for this for so long," said the park's director of marketing, Amy Mearkle.

After 5 years of planning, the $12.5 million expansion called "Laguna Splash" includes a wave pool, lazy river, four restaurants and more.

"I was blown away," park visitor, Nicole Taneyhill said.

The Taneyhill family, also season pass ticket holders, said they have been anticipating the opening of the water park for weeks.

Most importantly, the couple said it's not only a fun place for their kids but a safe one too!

"It feels safe because there's lot of lifeguards scanning the waters at all times and the water is shallow so we don't have to worry," Taneyhill said. "Plus there are a lot of life vests provided."
